The engaging and innovative programs at Fremantle Christian College comply with the Western Australian Curriculum. In addition to the core subjects of Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences and Technologies, students work with specialist teachers in various areas including Visual Art, Music, Physical Education, Library, Health and Mandarin. Students have access to specialised digital technologies including a bank of iPads in each classroom.

Primary Curriculum

Years 1 & 2

In Years 1 and 2, learning experiences integrate the vital literacy and numeracy skills required for this age group with a sense of wonder and discovery as we assist them in developing faith, character and courage. The Western Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework is supported by a dynamic and broad program that complements and reinforces the curriculum expectations. Strong literacy and numeracy skills are developed using the latest research and appropriate teaching. Students are encouraged to inquire and make connections across all curriculum areas.

Years 3 & 4

In Years 3 and 4, students are engaged in a nurturing yet challenging educational environment. The power of student voice encourages a sense of belonging as they are supported to become collaborative yet independent thinkers who take greater responsibility for their learning. A key component of this is considering what it means to show faith, character and courage. A strong emphasis continues to be placed on literacy and numeracy, as well as applying these skills to develop critical thinking and questioning. Learning programs value the wonder and awe of discovery and inquiry and technology are integrated into learning programs.

Years 5 & 6

In Years 5 and 6, our students continue to deepen their learning in all subject areas as they strive for personal excellence. They work collaboratively to construct new knowledge, develop skills and make connections between their learning and local, national and global issues. Students continue building the values of faith, character and courage through structured learning experiences. A key focus is one of responsibility and leadership, and being proactive in their intentions and behaviour. Our Year 6 program includes a camp and transition theme in Term 4 to assist students in preparing for the demands of high school and adolescence.

Our families are encouraged to participate in College life through volunteering and helping in many ways, some of which are:

Christian Culture

FCC is proud to have a strong and engaging presence of Christian Culture throughout the College. We have a Christian-culture coordinator, two chaplains and several youth workers, from New Life Church, who actively serve and interact with staff and students during the week.
